Harry Sutton Palmer was born in Plymouth in 1852 and became a very highly regarded and popular artist of his time, particularly for his landscapes at which he excelled.
He was educated at the RCA and received a gold medal for his work. He exhibited widely both in the UK and also in the States. His work is held in many public collections.
His style was traditional and he was very technically accomplished.
This particular work is an excellent example of his skill and demonstrates why he was esteemed during his days and also now, a fact shown by rising prices for his watercolour landscapes.

Very good condition with strong colours, vintage gilt frame has some losses but is perfectly serviceable, vintage wash lined mount, ready to hang
