Expressionist Woodcut
Signed and dated for 1922, limited edition 3/30
Extremely striking original woodcut that screams German Expressionism.
Funk was born in Germany but worked extensively in America producing oil portraits of famous people of the day, he also worked as an illustrator for the New York Herald and other publications of the time including Harper's and Scribner's.
Along with his portraiture he also produced a number of woodcuts during his regular trips to Europe and this is a wonderful example.
